Setting up a website and finding a high-quality host ‘s hard.
When it comes to picking a hosting company, it can be extremely challenging, especially when there are lots of other hosting services on the market. However, WPEngine has been known to be arguably one of the best hosting companies around today.
However, WPEngine has been known to be arguably one of the best hosting companies around today.
WP Engine is a hosting company that was founded in 2010. When you think of WordPress hosting, some big names come to mind; Media Temple and of course WP Engine.
Since there are so many WordPress developed websites it makes perfect sense that WP Engine came into existence. You can install many popular WordPress frameworks like Genesis, Headway, and Elegant Themes on their servers.
Simply put, if you’re using Joomla, Drupal, etc. you can’t host with WP Engine. They only support WordPress sites. There is no cPanel or anything you need to use to use their platform.
Instead, WP Engine handles all of that entirely for you. But, what are webmasters saying about WP Engine? Are they worth it to pay extra for a managed WordPress hosting provider?
Whenever, I review web hosting companies I look at some different things; features, uptime, reliability, customer support, and of course the price tag. Find out in this full WP Engine review why I do recommend that you use them for your WordPress websites.
Control Panel options
WP Engine’s back-end control panel is simple, direct and functional. Customers with moderate to advanced website management skills can make changes with a few clicks.
One of their unique features is the one-click staging area. It allows users to test features, new sections, and designs before making them live on the website.
This is a standard workflow for professional Web developers, and WP Engine has made it accessible for regular users who want to tap into this unique feature.
A lot of hosting companies have real issues whenever you have a huge traffic spike. Why is this? Because their servers crash when you’re site gets a lot of requests.
However, with WP Engine you can trust that your server isn’t going to have any problems. They use their in-house caching system called EverCache. You can’t install any caching plugins with them because it will cause conflicts with EverCache.
From the research I have done on WP Engine it looks like other webmasters are loving the performance with them.
A lot of webmasters have reported that once they switch over to WP Engine they see a drastic drop in their response times on their website. Simply put, the performance with WP Engine is fantastic!
One of the big questions we get about hosting platforms is, “What’s the support like?” It’s a valid question because your hosting is the backbone of your website.
If it goes down, you often can’t do anything about it until you speak with a representative. We also like it when we see hosting companies with support for tasks like migrations, database tweaking and more.
So, how does WPEngine stack up?
The team is available 24/7, and it offers telephone support and a solid knowledge base for searching for topics that are familiar with users. For example, they have an article in the knowledge base on how to make your site faster, which is a common question that arises with webmasters.
The blog keeps people updated with new happenings at the company, and you get information through social media if you follow WPEngine on places like Facebook and Twitter.
You have to login to the system to contact the support team, but once there, an email ticketing form is available for more immediate needs.
WP Engine does have a great money-back guarantee. It This means there isn’t a risk on your end if you decide that they just are not right for you.
The industry standard is a 30-day money back guarantee. WP engine doubles that with a 60-day guarantee.
WP Engine doesn’t offer the traditional array of advertising and marketing vouchers, but it does offer a few bonuses that will appeal to advanced WordPress users.
WP Engine Summary
So, do I recommend WP Engine? Yes, if you are looking for a managed WordPress hosting service. They are more expensive than other companies, obviously but if all the technical stuff scares you that comes with operating a server than you’ll find WP Engine to be a life saver.
They do have an excellent infrastructure for WordPress hosted websites. Their support is very helpful, and they are “true” WordPress experts.
They don’t focus on anything other than WordPress so you can trust that they know how to get problems resolved quickly. They have a lot of happy clients all over the world.
Is there any reason you shouldn’t use WP Engine? Yes, for some the price tag is steep. Paying $29 a month for web hosting is pretty expensive. If you’re strapped for cash, they might not be your best option.
Instead, you might want to check out my WebHostingHub review which isn’t managed WordPress hosting, but they do have a one click installer. They only cost $4 a month, too.
