Today we are honored to feature our interview with SEO expert Hussain Omar. Hussain is epic in the SEO/search industry, having been involved in it for many years.

Now, Hussain runs his company of SEO professional services with a team of highly qualified SEO professionals with several years of experience. Let’s get started!

Q. Hello, Hussain, this is a great pleasure to have you on today. So, tell us something about yourself and how you got into blogging?

Hussain: First I would like to say thanks for having me on your active blog. I’m Hussain Omar, the founder of Hustaw SEO team, started years back, so SEO has been a passion for a long time now, this passion pushed me to have my blog ( to help the interested guys to step into the SEO world easily and share the knowledge.

Q. What would you prioritize? Readers? Content? SEO? Traffic?

Hussain: I will go for the reader’s experience. If you care about your readers, you will not post low content, and SEO is the tool to reach those organic visitors, till they land on your pages, then it will be the responsibility of you and what you have done for reader experience. It is why you should take care of the whole chain.

Q. There is a plethora of conflicting advice & questionable info regarding Google’s Panda & Penguin updates. From your perspective, what are the important things to know & heed about these algorithm updates?

Hussain: These updates changed the game, what worked before their release is not functioning anymore

One should have quality content that targets mainly users, not search engines spiders, you shouldn’t forget on-page SEO good practices, but you should give priority to the content sense, and this is why the Panda update has come.

The same for Penguin update, your links should be built with caution, and the “quality over quantity” is the rule you should follow.

If you are building completely white hat links through guest posting, broken links, or outreaching strategies, you have nothing to worry about at all, as these practices are considered natural, but if you are using gray hat techniques then you should do it carefully following an up to date guide for doing that strategy you are implementing, as Google is now more intelligent than ever.

Q. What are the most important skills for an in-house SEO vs. an SEO working for an agency?

Hussain: Good Question, apart from the technical skills which should be the same, being an in-house SEO will require more skill, the most important one is the time management, clients will always ask for getting their work done on or before the deadlines, and you have to deal perfectly with it.

Team skills should be there too, whether you will be the leader or a player in the in-house team.

It is not like in the well-established companies with a detailed job description for every employee, team players in the in-house team must be initiative guys. Even if you are the team leader, that is what will make you a leader, no a manager.

In-house SEOs should also be independent learners. No one is going to offer them their capacity building.

Q. Can you please explain few of your strategies that worked well for creating visibility for yourself and your company?

Hussain: I started initially in the freelancing sites, which was the fastest way to get the clients. You will browse jobs, and bid. Yes, it is that easy.

And after some successful SEO projects, we have been selected to be Preferred Freelancer Badge Holders, and that helped a lot, as we started to get the offers from recruiters, it was helpful.

The blog is meant to be part of the online presence, and till now it is in its initial stages but has a strategy for it, and it grows gradually.

Q. What do you think are the few best tips you can give to newbie bloggers regarding SEO strategy in blogging?

Hussain: As it is a blog, they should select their niche carefully; it should be something they can write about on regular bases as being consistent and persistent is the key. Another thing they should have in mind in the engagement.

They should build relationships with others in related niches, and build a community of interested people in social media.

Then their SEO tasks will be much easier, and the doors will be wide open. They will be able to exchange ideas, inspire each other, doing guest posting, and outreaching.

Yeah, there is still some other SEO tricks work till now, and always there will be some, but the bold lines I have mentioned above will never change.

Q. What advice would you like to give to young and upcoming bloggers?

Hussain: They shouldn’t be short-tempered, it takes time, and the results you get after the hard work worth the try.

That’s all for my questions – I hope you enjoyed this online interview. Is there anything you’d like to add?

Thank you very much Anuradha for having me here.
