I like Hostgator.com, Resellerclub.com, or GoDaddy.com because I love the liberation that these domain providers provide.
The process of registering the domain name is same either you buy from your hosting provider or domain registrar separately. You’ll be asked to fill the domain name you want to register into there.
They will show you the domain extensions, and you can choose any of the TLD(top level domain) from them. People always want to go with .com because this is the most popular domain name extension and easiest for users to remember. Also, Google likes .com, .org and .net domains a lot.

Steps by Step Guide on How to Register Domain Name with Godaddy
To learn the process of how to register domain name with GoDaddy, perform the following steps:
Step 1. To register a domain name, open the website godaddy.com.
Step 2. Put in the domain name that you want to register and see if the domain name is available to be registered or not.
Step 3. Once I Press Search Domain Name button, GoDaddy will respond back telling me that the Sorry, domain name anuradha.com has been already taken.
If the domain name you are looking for has already been taken, GoDaddy will give you some possible alternatives that have not been registered.
Note: You will notice at the bottom of the page, there are also some domain names that have been registered but are up for sale. You will also notice that the cost of these domain names is quite high compared to the cost of registering a new domain name. Hopefully, the domain name that you are after is available, and you will not have to pay top dollar to buy it from their owner.
Step 4. If you scroll up through the alternate options, you might find the domain name that is similar to the domain name you want to register it.
As it’s not mandatory to buy a domain name from alternate choice, If none are right, just do another search until you find one you like. As it can cause problems, you need to decide which is right for your business.
Step 5. If you like the domain name from alternatives or domain you want is luckily available then add that domain name to your cart to be registered.
Step 6. When the domain name is added to cart, some additional options appear which can also be included in the cart. If you press continue to checkout, none of these options will be added.
By default, all the options are unselected. You can choose any of the respective options from drop down according to your requirement. When this happens, you will also get some additional options, listed below.
i)Domain only: This will register only the domain name and is the cheapest option.
ii) Privacy Protection: Godaddy has a lot of hotspot help points with every option. Like they will tell you the difference between the domain with privacy protection and without privacy protection.
On the left, you can see all the personal details like address and phone number are available. Anyone using whois, which is a DNS tool that is freely available can quickly look at this information.
Mostly Whatever information you put here is public information. And the requirement for registering a domain name is that your personal information should be accurate.
If you don’t want your personal information to be public, you can choose privacy protection option, and the result of whois will appear with that on the right. This time, notice that details are GoDaddy Address and phone number.
Also, notice the email address. Any emails sent to this address will be automatically forwarded to you. This keeps all your personal details secure. It is up to you if you want to pay the extra money to keep your details being known to the public.
iii) Privacy and Business Protection: This option gives you few extra features in addition to the privacy protection. Normally when a domain name expires, it is available to be registered, and if someone registered before you, they could take your domain name.
This option prevents the domain from being registered for 12 months after it has expired. It also prevents the domain from easily being transferred.
It put additional security on the domain which prevents the user from accidentally moving the domain name to someone else. In this case, I will add the option for privacy protection which will keep my details secure.
iv) Website Builder: Here on the same screen you will get the additional packages like Website Builder or Web Hosting. If you want to create your site using the domain that you registered, for a monthly fee GoDaddy will host your site.
The website builder option allows you to create a website with no technical knowledge. It creates the site based on the input that you give it. If you know enough about web hosting, you can choose the next option Web hosting.

Step 7. Here the last option allows you to use GoDaddy to host your email. If you don’t choose any options here, you are always free to choose these services from someone else.
Note: The advantage of using their web hosting or e-mail is that DNS will automatically be updated to point to these services. Anyways, When you register a domain name you are not locked into one provider. If you want to use someone else, it is just a matter of changing the appropriate DNS Records to point to the other host that is providing that hosting service.
Step 8. Once you add the additional services, Click on Continue to Cart Button.
Step 9. The next screen is the review screen where you can review your order and can change the term for a domain name which itself has configured for two years.
If you scroll down, you will also notice that a search for additional domains has been performed. If you want to add other top level domain names of the same name, it is up to you.
Step 10. Once it has been added to the cart, select the option Proceed to Checkout.
Step 11. The next screen will ask if you exist or new customer. As I am a new customer so I will need to press continue to register as a new customer.
Step 12. The top part is just basic information about name, email, and address. The next section is the username, pin, and password.
Note: It’s mandatory to remember this PIN because whenever you call the GoDaddy support, their representative will ask Pin for identification. So PIN is an important item to remember.
Step 13. Lastly, at the bottom, you need to enter your credit card or pay pal details. Notice the tick box at the bottom, “Use as ExpressCheckout” for future purchases. If you leave this option ticked, any future purchases that you make will be automatically with this credit card.
Step 14. When you press the continue button, on the next screen, you will get the chance to confirm the details. Once you confirmed the details, Click “Place your order” button. Next, the order will be placed, and Congratulations domain will be registered to you.
